Step 2:  Brainstorm for Possible Topics

Brainstorm and write down some possible topic ideas. 

Take a break from the assignment for at least 15 minutes. 

Re-read what you wrote.  Now cross out the items you definitely DO NOT want to write a speech about. 

Now, you have a good list of ideas.  Select two or three related topic ideas before proceeding.  Circle them.
