Then Bob said, “That’s not our job.”
Dwight ambitiously said, “Actually, I tried to call you, Mr. Scott, because it is my job.”
The boss retorted, “I know for a fact you didn’t call because my phone didn’t ring.”
Dwight said, “I did call you, and I have the record to prove it.”
“What number,” probed the boss, “did you call?”
“First,” replied Dwight, “I called your home phone number, but I know that your wife doesn’t work on Thursdays, so I hung up.”
“Then I called your cell phone,” continued Dwight, “but it appears that your batteries are dead.”
“That’s impossible!” the boss arrogantly responded.
“Is it impossible, Mr. Scott?” inquired Dwight. “With all due respect, I think is it possible that you are in denial.”
