Protesting the early due date of their projects, the confounded students shouted, “That’s not fair!”
“I guess,” admitted the professor, “I could have given you more time.”
He continued, “The reason for the earlier deadline is to give you more time to study for your finals.”
“Ugh, finals!” groaned some of the students.
“The only other option,” he refuted, “would be to give each of you a failing grade.”
“I can’t fail this class,” a frightened student interjected. “I need the credits to graduate!”
The professor, adjusting his glasses, reassured them by saying, “Don’t worry. I want you to pass, and I will help you in any way I can.”
“Can we please begin the lesson now?” interrupted one eager student. “I feel like I’m wasting my time.”
“Certainly,” agreed the professor, smiling.
He continued, “In today’s lesson, we’ll review the basic principles of economics.”
