Directions: Read the following paragraph and circle the verb tense that works best in the context.

Everyday, the Wilson family (eats/is eating) breakfast at their kitchen table, but this morning is special.  They (eat/are eating) in the living room because something important (happens/is happening).  The oldest son, Tom, (is/is being), a cyclist in the Tour de France.  He (is/is being) on the an international professional cycling team.  The Tour de France is live.  It is on television right now.  Tom (cycles/is cycling) very fast and the Wilsons (watch/are watching) him on television.  The cyclists (pass/are passing) through a small village in northern France at the moment.  It looks like the team (wins/is winning).  Even if Tom (doesn’t win/isn’t winning) this year, the Wilsons (are/are being) still very happy for him.
