Read this dialogue between two brothers, Jake and David, who are worried about their parents. Choose the correct word.
David: Hey, Jake. Can I talk to (you/your) for a minute?
Jake: Sure, David. What’s up?
David: I’m worried about (us/our) parents.
Jake: Why? What’s going on with (them/their)?
David: Well, Dad called (me/my) last night and wanted (me/my) to help
(him/his) with the house payment.
Jake Really? Are you going to help (him/his)?
David: I don’t know yet. I asked (him/his) why Mom couldn’t help.
Jake: What did he say?
David: Dad said she is in the hospital, and she might lose
(she/her) job.
Jake: That’s terrible news.
David: I know!
Jake: Why is she in the hospital?
David: Dad said (she/her) spleen burst, and the doctors said (they/them)
had to operate on (it/its).
Jake: Oh, no!
David: Then he asked me if we could use some of (us/our) savings to
help (them/their) through (them/their) hard times.
Jake: I would help, but (me/my) savings account only has $4500 in
(it/its).
David: (Me/My) too.
Jake: When are you going to talk to (him/his) again?
David: I’ll probably call (him/his) later tonight. I tried to call earlier, but
(him/his) cell phone was off.
Jake: What are you going to tell (him/his)?
David: I think we can help (him/his) with (him/his) finances,
but we probably won’t be able to pay for all of (it/its).
Jake: Can I visit (her/she) in the hospital?
David: Yes, of course. But I think (them/their) visiting hours are from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm.
