David: Hey, Jake. Can I talk to you for a minute?
Jake: Sure, David. What’s up?
David: I’m worried about our parents.
Jake: Why? What’s going on with them?
David: Well, Dad called me last night and wanted me to help
him with the house payment.
Jake Really? Are you going to help him?
David: I don’t know yet. I asked him why Mom couldn’t help.
Jake: What did he say?
David: Dad said she is in the hospital, and she might lose her job.
Jake: That’s terrible news.
David: I know!
Jake: Why is she in the hospital?
David: Dad said her spleen burst, and the doctors said they
had to operate on it.
Jake: Oh, no!
David: Then he asked me if we could use some of our savings to
help them through their hard times.
Jake: I would help, but my savings account only has $4500 in
it.
David: Me too.
Jake: When are you going to talk to him again?
David: I’ll probably call him later tonight. I tried to call earlier, but
his cell phone was off.
Jake: What are you going to tell him?
David: I think we can help him with his finances,
but we probably won’t be able to pay for all of it.
Jake: Can I visit her in the hospital?
David: Yes, of course. But I think their visiting hours are from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm.
