Last Monday was an unusually busy morning. Some friends from out of town are visiting me, and they’re staying for an entire week. Before I left for work that day, I had to make sure that all of the things I needed to do over the weekend had been done. I had washed the spare blankets, sheets and pillow cases, so they would smell nice. I had mopped and vacuumed the floors so our socks wouldn’t get dirty. I had scrubbed the kitchen so our meals were prepared in a clean oven. In addition to cleaning, I had thought of a menu for the week, and my husband had done all the shopping so we would have enough food. By Monday morning, I was ready to have company. Unfortunately, I arrived at work after the computers had shut down only to realize that I had left my cell phone at home. Since the computers weren’t working, I never received the e-mail that my guests had sent. I went home for lunch to pick up my phone, and I noticed that someone had left a message. I dialed the number and just as the phone had started ringing, the doorbell rang. I turned around and looked out the window to see that my friends had arrived early and were standing at the door.
