I won’t eat any cupcakes now, but by the time this party is over I will have eaten two dozen.

Carrie

You will not have eaten two dozed, because I will make sure that you don’t eat any!

Doug

If I don’t eat cupcakes tonight, I will have eaten cookies instead.  And at the party, you will have looked all over for the cookies, and you will not have been able to find them because I will have hidden them.

Carrie

Where will you have hidden them?

Doug

In my stomach.

Carrie

If that happens, you will have shown me that you don’t really care about your health.  Tomorrow, when you stand on the scale, I will remind you how you ate all that junk food.

Doug

By tomorrow morning, I will have forgotten everything.

Carrie

I doubt that.  I think you will have remembered the promise that you broke.

Doug

Which promise is that? 

Carrie

You made a promise to go on a diet!
