The comma rules for using dependent clauses are:

If the DC goes before the IC, put a comma after the DC.
Example 1:  If I call you, you should answer. (DC comma IC)

If the IC goes before the DC, you don't need a comma between them.
Example 2: You should answer if I call you. (IC no comma DC)

Directions:  Identify the Adverb Clause. Place a comma where necessary. 

  1. Because of their distinct facial features the panda bear is easily recognized.
  2. Although the polar bear lives in cold climates it doesn’t get cold.
  3. While the lion may look cute I don’t recommend trying to cuddle with it.
  4. Since they have a horn-shaped nose they can defend themselves against prey.
  5. If you want to see all these animals in one place you should visit the zoo.
  6. Until they are saved rhinoceros remain endangered.
  7. Even though they are vegetarians rhinoceros weigh up to 1000 pounds.
  8. Because polar bears might lose their habitat they are under the threat of endangerment.
  9. Because it seeks protection the baby elephant stands underneath its mother.
  10. When you see a lion in the wild do not approach it.
